Welcome to the Post-Conference site for the 2007 De Lange Conference: Emerging Libraries. This conference was extremely successful, so we wanted to offer post-conference updates, contact, speaker information and presentations, as well as photos from the conference and second life.

Second Life

| Rice University views Second Life as a tool to explore the possibilities of new information systems using 3-D environments before our user communities start to expect resources and services in a 3D web. Rice streamed video from the De Lange Conference into Second Life where librarians and educators from around the world watched and then asked questions of the speakers. Presenting the De Lange conference in Second Life added a unique dimension to the event and tied in directly with the theme of emerging libraries. |
